AC repair in Edison: what warm air can tell you
Our Edison warm-air guide explains why a running fan does not necessarily mean the cooling equipment is operating. Check Cool mode, a temperature below the room temperature and whether the fan is set to On rather than Auto.
Note whether the outdoor unit appears to run, whether airflow is weak and whether all rooms are affected. These observations help a technician investigate the fault; they do not establish that refrigerant is low or the compressor needs replacement.
- Check an accessible filter and keep vents unobstructed.
- Turn cooling off if you see ice; do not open panels or handle refrigerant.
- Include your Edison address and ZIP, recent thermostat or filter changes, and photos of safely accessible labels or visible symptoms.
